    Advertising in Solomianka: 4 Micro-Zones

    August 7, 20269 min

    Solomianskyi is one of Kyiv's largest districts by area and one of its least uniform by audience. It holds dense residential Chokolivka, a transit avenue running toward Zhuliany, a student-and-office belt, and deep sleeping quarters — all at once. So when a local business says "we want advertising in Solomianka," it usually means one of those four — but pays for all of them.

    Advertising in Solomianka works when you target a micro-zone, not a district. The difference between a screen on Mukachivska and one on Borshchahivska isn't four kilometres — it's different people, a different time of day, and a different reason they're looking at a screen at all. Here's how to break the Solomianskyi district into workable pieces and build a campaign around one of them.

    Why "Solomianskyi district" isn't one audience

    In a district of roughly 350,000 people, the "average audience" is a fiction. What you actually buy is one of four behavioural patterns:

    Micro-zoneWho's thereContact peakWhat sells
    Chokolivka (Mukachivska)residents of dense housing, familiesmorning 7:00–10:00, eveninghousehold services, health, kids' education
    Povitrianykh Syl Avehousing + offices + schoolsall day, 7:30–21:00services for working people, B2C, delivery
    Borshchahivska / Harmatnaresidents, evening and weekend rhythm18:00–22:00, weekendsleisure, food, auto, repairs, sport
    Solomianka core (Preobrazhenska)weekday work flow, local residentsweekdays 8:00–20:00local services, pinpoint B2B, education

    This isn't theoretical segmentation — it follows directly from venue opening hours and the built environment around them. A venue that closes at 20:00 on weekdays physically cannot sell you a Saturday evening audience. And vice versa.

    We covered the same logic in our piece on advertising within a 1 km radius — in Solomianka it matters more than anywhere else, because the district is stretched out and people from Chokolivka and Vidradnyi barely overlap in daily life.

    Micro-zone 1: Chokolivka — the morning residential

    Mukachivska and the surrounding streets are classic dense housing with a large share of long-term residents. People here go to the same coffee shop for years — they don't "happen to drop in."

    For an advertiser that means you're buying frequency, not reach. The same guest will see your clip 8–12 times a month. That works poorly for a one-off promo and very well for services with a long decision cycle: dentistry, car service, language schools, gadget repair.

    Live location: 29 COFFEE, 5 Mukachivska St — around 4,000 people a month, open from 7:00 on weekdays. The morning coffee flow here is people leaving home, not people leaving the metro.

    Micro-zone 2: Povitrianykh Syl Avenue — the widest profile

    This is the district's main artery. Around it: a mix of residential blocks, office buildings, educational and administrative institutions. That's why the audience here is the blurriest but also the largest — students, office workers, residents, visitors to institutions.

    It's the one zone in Solomianka where the daytime slot genuinely works. Everywhere else the middle of the day sags, because people are at work in another district.

    Live location: CAVA HOUSE, 56 Povitrianykh Syl Ave — around 7,000 people a month, the largest flow among the district's screens, open 7:30–21:00 on weekdays. It's the pricier point, and it earns that if you need reach rather than depth.

    Micro-zone 3: Borshchahivska — evenings and weekends

    The western stretch of Borshchahivska, closer to Harmatna, runs on a different clock: its peak begins when the office zones have already emptied out.

    The contact profile is fundamentally different — the person isn't rushing, often isn't alone, and is in "after work / day off" mode. This is the district's best zone for things people buy on mood rather than by plan: food delivery, entertainment, local events, sport, weekend services.

    Live location: Beer&Cool, 174/32 Borshchahivska St — around 4,000 people a month, open daily 11:00–22:00. The venue format (craft beer, snacks) filters out the morning audience by itself — here you're buying the evening in its pure form.

    Micro-zone 4: The Solomianka core — weekday rhythm

    Preobrazhenska and the blocks around Solomianska Square are a mixed zone: local residents plus weekday work flow. Venue hours here are shorter and weekends weaker, but weekdays are dense and predictable.

    It's the cheapest way into the district — the logical first test if you don't yet know which micro-zone is yours.

    Live location: Kava.li, 8 Preobrazhenska St — around 3,000 people a month, weekdays 8:00–20:00.

    What advertising in Solomianka costs

    Indoor screen pricing is calculated per second of airtime per month. As of August 2026, across the district's four screens:

    LocationRate15-sec clip / monthReach / month
    Kava.li, 8 Preobrazhenskafrom ₴30/sec~₴4503,000+
    29 COFFEE, 5 Mukachivskafrom ₴40/sec~₴6004,000+
    Beer&Cool, 174/32 Borshchahivskafrom ₴40/sec~₴6004,000+
    CAVA HOUSE, 56 Povitrianykh Sylfrom ₴70/sec~₴1,0507,000+
    Whole district~₴2,70018,000+

    So full coverage of the Solomianskyi district with a 15-second clip costs under three thousand hryvnia a month. For comparison, that's below the monthly budget of a single mid-sized paid social campaign — and you get contact in a physical space where a person can't scroll past you.

    The clip plays on a loop roughly every two minutes, so one visit to a venue isn't one impression but three to seven. How to count those metrics honestly is covered in our post on a campaign from ₴1,000.

    Who benefits most from advertising in Solomianka

    The best value goes to businesses whose customers live or work within 1–3 km of the screen:

    • dental practices, medical offices, cosmetology;
    • car services, tyre shops — this is a car-heavy district;
    • schools, courses, kids' clubs, tutors;
    • food delivery and meal-prep services;
    • beauty salons, barbershops, independent specialists;
    • local retail and neighbourhood services.

    Not a fit: city-wide brand campaigns, FMCG, businesses with no physical tie to Kyiv. Those need a different scale and a different mechanic.

    Three mistakes when entering the district

    1. Buying "the whole district" at once. Solomianka isn't Podil — you can't close it with one screen, and you don't need to close it with four. Take the one micro-zone that matches your customer base, run it for a month, then expand.

    2. Ignoring venue hours. If your service is bought in the evening and you picked a venue that closes at 20:00 and barely runs on weekends, you're paying for an audience that isn't there when you need it.

    3. One creative for every micro-zone. The morning residential audience in Chokolivka and the evening one on Borshchahivska respond to different messages. At minimum, split them into "practical decision" and "leisure."

    How to buy it without an agency

    The classic route is finding an agency, waiting for a proposal, agreeing a quarterly contract, and adding a 15–30% agency markup on top. For a ₴2,700 budget that's absurd.

    HostAd closes it differently:

    • the venue owner's price is visible before booking — no intermediary markup;
    • monthly booking — take one screen for one month as a test, no contract;
    • a map instead of phone calls/map shows real availability, rate and reach for every screen in the Solomianskyi district;
    • launch in hours, not weeks — pick a screen, upload the clip, pay, go live;
    • QR analytics — scans from the screen show up in your dashboard, so "does this even work" stops being a matter of faith.

    Summary

    Advertising in Solomianka works not because the district is big, but because it breaks into four clear micro-zones and you can buy exactly the one where your customers live. Chokolivka gives frequency, Povitrianykh Syl gives reach, Borshchahivska gives the evening, Preobrazhenska gives a cheap entry. Together that's 18,000+ contacts a month for under ₴2,700.
