How Much Instagram Ads Cost in Ukraine: 2026 Prices

    September 16, 20269 min

You ask how much Instagram ads cost and everyone answers "it depends." True, but useless: the budget has to be set today, not after three months of experiments. Below are the actual numbers — what makes up the price of Instagram advertising, what every UAH 3,000, 10,000 and 30,000 buys, where a local advertiser's money disappears without a trace, and what to pair this channel with when your customers live within a few blocks.

What actually determines the price of Instagram ads

There is no fixed rate card — Instagram (and Facebook; it is one Meta ad account) sells impressions at auction. You are not buying "a post for UAH 500," you are setting a daily budget and competing for one specific audience's attention.

The final cost is driven by:

    • Campaign objective. Reach and impressions are cheapest, traffic costs more, messages and leads more still, catalogue sales the most.
    • Audience width. A narrow "women 25–34, Podil, 2 km" target means a small auction and a high cost per thousand impressions. Wider geo is cheaper but wastes impressions.
    • Season. November–December (Black Friday, holidays) is traditionally the most expensive stretch: big brands pour budgets in and lift bids for everyone.
    • Creative quality. This is the biggest lever you control. Weak video with poor retention means the algorithm shows it less, which means a higher cost per result.
    • Fees and taxes. If you pay through an intermediary rather than a card directly, add another 10–20% on top.

The entry threshold is low: the account lets you start at roughly USD 1–2 per day. But "you can launch on UAH 50 a day" and "UAH 50 a day will bring enquiries" are different claims. Below about UAH 3,000 per month the algorithm simply never leaves the learning phase.

These are the ranges a typical small advertiser in Kyiv sees. They are not an official Meta rate card — the auction is individual, so verify against your own account after 7–10 days of delivery.

    Metric Typical range Note
CPM (per 1,000 impressions) UAH 60–250 Narrow geo + narrow age pushes you to the top
CPC (click to site) UAH 3–15 Depends on creative and niche
CTR 0.7–2% Below 0.7% is a creative problem, not a budget one
Cost per Direct message UAH 25–120 The most common objective in services
Cost per lead (form) UAH 80–400 Higher in healthcare, real estate, education

Seasonal correction: budget +20–40% on your usual CPM in November–December. We covered how that shapes Q4 planning in the Black Friday advertising piece.

    What your budget actually buys

    Let's calculate on mid-range values: CPM UAH 120, CTR 1.2%, click-to-enquiry conversion 8%.

Monthly budget Impressions Clicks Enquiries (≈)
    UAH 3,000 ~25,000 ~300 20–25
    UAH 10,000 ~83,000 ~1,000 70–80
    UAH 30,000 ~250,000 ~3,000 200–240

    Three caveats to that table:

    1. Impressions are not people. 25,000 impressions is not 25,000 individuals — it is usually 8–12 thousand people who saw you 2–3 times.
    2. Enquiries are not customers. In services, 20–50% of enquiries convert. Halve it again.
    3. Month one is tuition. Your real numbers appear in month two or three, once the algorithm understands your audience and you understand which creatives survive longer than a week.

Where a local business leaks budget

Instagram is a strong channel. But for a business serving a single district it has four structural leaks.

    1. Geography works worse than it looks. The account holds a 1–2 km radius only approximately, and it sweeps in people who drove past once. For a coffee shop, barbershop or tyre service, half of that "local" reach is not local. More detail in the guide to hyperlocal advertising within 1 km.

    2. You are renting attention at its least attentive moment. People swipe a story every 1.5–2 seconds. Almost nobody watches your 15-second video to the end — and that is priced in.

    3. Creative fatigue hits in 10–14 days. The same clip shown to the same audience means falling CTR and rising cost per result. Budget for new creatives every two weeks, not just for media.

    4. The account can be banned. It is neither rare nor always deserved: a ban can follow a new payment method, a sharp spend increase or automated moderation. Your channel stops in a single moment — what to do is laid out in the ad account blocked playbook.

When Instagram is the right call — and when it isn't

It fits if: you sell online or nationwide; your product is visual (fashion, food, beauty, decor); someone produces fresh creatives weekly; you can absorb two "learning" months.

It works badly if: customers walk in from a 10–15 minute radius; your budget is under UAH 3,000/month; you have no capacity to keep refreshing video; you sell a service people look for at the moment of need rather than while scrolling.

In the second case the money usually performs better where the person is physically near your location — and has a free 3–5 minutes rather than 1.5 seconds.

What the same attention costs offline: the honest math

HostAd sells advertising on screens inside Kyiv coffee shops and bars — currently 28 locations across Podil, Pechersk, Solomianka, Obolon, Holosiiv and the Shevchenkivskyi district. The price is open before you book and is calculated per second of airtime:

    • UAH 90 per 1 second of airtime per month — the base rate at a typical location
    • a 10-second clip = UAH 900/month, 15 seconds = UAH 1,350, 30 seconds = UAH 2,700
    • some screens carry a current-month discount (for example UAH 675 instead of 900)

Now compare in one metric. The ZHNYVA coffee shop on Pavlivska reaches roughly 9,000 people per month. UAH 900 ÷ 9 = UAH 100 per 1,000 people reached. That sits inside the Instagram CPM range of UAH 60–250 — with two differences:

    • these are people, not impressions: the contact happens in a venue where someone is sitting with a coffee, not thumbing a feed;
    • the screen is a five-minute walk from your location, so the geography is physical, not approximate.

What else matters when you are counting budget:

    • Monthly booking — no quarterly contract. Take one screen for a month as a test and look at the numbers.
    • The owner's transparent price, no agency markup — you see the price on the map and pay it, with no proposals and no haggling through an intermediary taking their 15–30%.
    • QR analytics — the creative carries a QR code with UTM tags, so you see real scans, not just "reach." How to read them is in the QR in indoor advertising guide.
    • Hours from selection to air. Pick a location on the map, upload the clip, pay.

How to split the budget: a working allocation

For a local business with UAH 10,000 per month, a healthy split looks like this:

    Share Amount Job
Instagram (paid social) UAH 6,000 Reach, retargeting people who already know the brand
Screens in nearby coffee shops UAH 2,700 Three locations, 10 seconds each, in your district
Creative production UAH 1,300 2–3 new videos a month for both channels

The same vertical clip works in stories and on screen — production does not double. We compared channels head to head in outdoor advertising vs Facebook Ads, and detailed screen budgets are in the cost of screen advertising in Kyiv. In short

    • Instagram pricing is an auction: expect CPM UAH 60–250, a click at UAH 3–15, an enquiry at UAH 25–120.
    • The working minimum for a small business is UAH 3,000/month, and the first two months pay for the algorithm's learning.
    • For a neighbourhood business, targeting leaks on geography, attention and creative fatigue.
    • A screen in the coffee shop next door costs from UAH 900/month for a 10-second clip — about UAH 100 per 1,000 real people, booked monthly, with QR analytics.

Run the numbers on specific locations: open the HostAd screen map, pick the coffee shops in your district and check price and reach before you book.
