Telegram Channel Ads in Ukraine: 2026 Prices

    September 6, 20269 min

Telegram channel advertising is the first place Ukrainian businesses go when they need something fast and cheap. You find a channel, message the admin, send 3,000 UAH, and the post goes out at 7 p.m. Then the unpleasant part starts: 12,000 views, seven clicks to your site, and nobody can explain why.

The problem isn't Telegram. The problem is that the price of a post and the cost of a result are two different numbers, and most advertisers only compare the first one. Below are the real price bands for 2026, a way to vet a channel before you pay, and an honest answer about which jobs Telegram does well and which ones need a different channel.

How much Telegram channel ads cost: 2026 price bands

There is no fixed rate card in Telegram — the admin names the price. But the market has settled into fairly stable bands. Here's what to expect in Ukraine in 2026:

Channel type Subscribers Price per post (24 h)
    Micro-niche (local, topical) 3–15k 500–2,500 UAH
    Mid-size topical 15–60k 2,000–8,000 UAH
    Large topical / lifestyle 60–200k 6,000–20,000 UAH
    News / nationwide 200k+ 15,000–60,000 UAH
Narrow B2B (IT, finance, real estate) 5–30k 3,000–15,000 UAH

These are reference points, not a tariff. In narrow B2B niches, a channel with 8,000 subscribers can cost more than an entertainment channel with 100,000, because a single client from it pays for the placement.

    Formats move the price too:

    • 1/24 — one hour pinned at the top, 24 hours in the feed. The baseline everything else is priced against.
    • 1/48, 1/72 — stays in the feed longer, +20–40%.
    • No deletion (native) — the post stays forever, +50–100%.
    • A pack of 3–5 posts — usually 15–25% off the total.

Calculate CPM, not price per post

The price per post tells you nothing until you divide it by reach. The working formula:

CPM = (price per post ÷ average post views) × 1000

Example: a channel asks 6,000 UAH and averages 25,000 views. CPM = 240 UAH. Another asks 2,000 UAH at 4,000 views. CPM = 500 UAH. The cheaper post turned out to be twice as expensive per contact.

Healthy CPMs in Ukrainian Telegram in 2026:

    • Entertainment and news channels — 60–150 UAH
    • Topical (auto, beauty, parenting, travel) — 150–300 UAH
    • Narrow B2B and finance — 300–600 UAH

If you're quoted a CPM near 800–1,000 UAH and it isn't a channel read by factory directors, negotiate or walk away.

One important detail: use average views across the last 10–15 posts, not one good post. Admins love showing the one that went viral.

How to vet a channel before you pay

This is where most money is lost. A minimum checklist that takes 15 minutes:

    1. ERR (engagement rate by reach). How many views a post gets relative to subscriber count. A healthy Ukrainian channel sits at 20–45%. If a channel has 50,000 subscribers but posts get 3,000 views, it's either inflated or burned out.

    2. Subscriber growth chart. Steady organic +50–200 a day is good. Vertical jumps of 10,000 in a day with no news event mean bought traffic.

    3. Comments and reactions. Open the last 5–10 posts. Live channels have uneven reactions: some land, some don't. Exactly 300 reactions under every post is a red flag.

    4. Advertising history. Look at who advertised there before. If it's a wall of casinos, crypto and "earn from home", your brand joins that lineup.

    5. Ask for a statistics screenshot. The admin of a live channel shares it without hesitation: views, geography, growth. A refusal is itself an answer.

    6. Check the geography. This matters most for local businesses and gets ignored most often. A Ukrainian channel with 80,000 subscribers might have 30% of its audience in Kyiv and the rest spread across the country and the diaspora. If you're a dental clinic in Podil, you pay for 80,000 and maybe 2,000 of them are relevant.

    What Telegram does well

    Honestly: quite a lot.

    • Speed. Agree in the morning, go live in the evening.
    • Trust in the author. A native recommendation from an admin people have read for years beats a banner.
    • Niche precision. A channel for cat owners, a channel for freelancers, a channel for parents in Troieshchyna — interest targeting that even Meta doesn't always deliver.
    • Clickability. The link sits in the post, the person is already on their phone, and the path to your site is one tap.
    • Independence from platform moderation. Relevant if your Facebook ad account has been blocked before.

Where Telegram breaks down for local business

Now the limitations that never appear in a rate card.

No geo targeting. You can't buy "Podil" or "Solomianka". You buy the whole channel and pay for every reader, including the ones who will never physically walk past your venue. For a service that works within a 2–3 km radius, that means 80–95% of the budget goes nowhere. We worked through that math in our guide to hyperlocal advertising within a 1 km radius.

One shot. A post lives an hour at the top and a day in the feed. After that it's dead. Recognition is built on frequency — seven to nine contacts, not one. To get frequency in Telegram you have to buy the same channel five to seven times, and the price multiplies accordingly.

No context of place. An ad for a coffee shop sitting in a feed between exchange-rate headlines competes for attention with the entire phone. The same ad on a screen two blocks from the venue lands at the moment someone is already deciding where to go.

Prices are rising. In 2021 a niche channel with 20,000 subscribers cost 800 UAH. In 2026 it's 3,000–5,000. Ukraine's digital advertising market is recovering (per VRK estimates, digital remains the largest segment), Telegram is getting more expensive along with it, and organic channel reach keeps falling.

Offline effect is hard to measure. Counting a click is easy. Counting the person who saw the post and walked into your store three days later is not.

Telegram or a screen in a venue: an honest comparison

Telegram channel ad Indoor screen in a coffee shop
Geo precision Whole channel, no districts A specific address and district
Contact frequency 1 impression, then pay again Dozens of impressions per month
Minimum budget 500–3,000 UAH per post A monthly booking on one screen
Context Feed, between news items The coffee queue, nobody in a rush
Measurement Link clicks QR scans tied to a location
Who sells it An admin, price by feel Transparent owner pricing on a map

This isn't either/or. The healthiest setup for a local business is Telegram for a fast announcement and traffic, a nearby screen for frequency and reminder. The first gives you a spike; the second keeps you from being forgotten in between.

    How HostAd solves this

HostAd covers exactly what Telegram structurally can't: attachment to a place and repeated contact.

The network currently runs 29 digital screens in craft coffee shops and bars across Kyiv: PEOPLE КАВА, ЖНИВА, Cava House, Coffee Gang, Glass Coffee, Beer&Cool, Kul Hava, Handmade Espresso Bar, 29 Coffee and others. That's Podil, Pechersk, the centre, Solomianka, Obolon and Shevchenkivskyi — not an abstract "all of Ukraine" but specific intersections with a specific foot-traffic audience.

What that gives an advertiser used to Telegram:

    • You see the price before booking. Not "DM us for a rate card" but the owner's open price on the map. No 15–30% agency markup.
    • You pick an address, not a "channel". Want Podil only? Take the Podil screens — for example ЖНИВА on Pavlivska or PEOPLE КАВА on Yordanska.
    • A month instead of a single post. Your clip runs in the loop for the whole period — dozens of contacts with the same visitor, not one appearance in a feed.
    • QR with analytics. Every screen produces scans tied to its location, so you can see which district actually delivers leads. How it works: QR codes in indoor advertising.
    • Live within hours. Sign up, pick a screen, upload the creative, pay — no proposals, no calls, no account manager.

A test budget is roughly what one post in a mid-size channel costs. We broke down what a minimum spend actually produces in our 1,000 UAH campaign case, and compared offline against paid platforms in outdoor advertising vs Facebook Ads.

    In short

    • A Telegram post costs from 500 UAH in a micro-niche to 60,000 UAH in a large news channel. Judge by CPM, not by the total.
    • A healthy CPM in Ukraine in 2026 is 60–300 UAH depending on the niche. Above 600 UAH only makes sense for narrow B2B.
    • Check ERR (20–45%), the growth chart, whether comments look alive, and the audience geography before you pay.
    • Telegram is strong on speed, trust and niche precision. It's weak on geo, frequency and measuring offline results.
    • If your business serves a district, pair Telegram with a channel that is tied to a place.
